Find someone

How Trusted by Locals works

Someone who has been happy with your work taps your link, confirms their email address, and your number goes up by one. That's the whole idea.

If you're recommending someone

  1. Open their link. It might be in an email signature, a text, a Facebook post or on a van.
  2. Add your email address. Nothing else. No name, no account, no password, nothing to write.
  3. Tap the link we email you. That confirms it, and it counts.

It takes about fifteen seconds. Each person can recommend someone once, so every number is made of different people. If you change your mind later, there's a link in the email to withdraw it.

Once you've done it, you can recommend more people in one tap, and tell a neighbour who uses the same person.

If you do good work locally

  1. Claim your link. Pick the name people know you by. It's permanent, it's free, and it takes a couple of minutes.
  2. Put it where your customers look. Your dashboard has a step-by-step guide: your website, your email signature, Facebook and WhatsApp, a message to recent customers, invoices, and a QR code for your van or stall.
  3. Watch your number climb. Your badge changes as it does, and every copy you've shared updates itself.

Not sure how to ask? Here's how to get recommended, with messages you can copy.

Your badge

You get a badge from day one. At first it simply invites your customers to recommend you. As recommendations arrive it shows your number, and for the people locals can't stop recommending it turns gold. The badge you put on your website or in your email signature links back to your page and updates by itself, so you never have to change it.

The directory

Everyone who has been recommended can appear in our directory of local people, for the people who need someone good. You get listed by being recommended, not by paying, and you can choose to stay out of search and directory pages and keep just your own page and link.

Directory pages for a place appear once enough local people have been recommended there, so they fill up as people use the site.

What it costs

It's free to use, to recommend and to be recommended. Nobody can pay to be listed, or to be higher up the list.
